Mean radius and thickness
Mean
radius:
The distance from the centre of the nucleus to a point where
the density of nuclear matter starts to drop sharply or is half of its central
value is called the mean radius
Skin
thickness:
The skin thickness is a small distance the density of charge
is roughly constant out of a certain point and then drops from near its maximum
to near its minimum.
The distance over which this drop occure is nearly
Independent of the size of the nucleus this is what called skin thickness.
